Sean is a dynamic academic and professional specializing in data analytics, sport management, marketing, consumer behavior and consumer psychology. With a doctorate in Health and Human Performance from the University of Florida, Sean’s research focuses on cutting-edge topics such as practical applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in sports, sport communication, and consumer behavior.

His work delves into areas of consumer perceived value of AI-generated augmented reality in broadcasting, motivations behind esports gaming, and leveraging machine learning to model and predict consumer behavior. Sean is an accomplished researcher with numerous peer-reviewed works and has presented his findings at prestigious conferences worldwide, including the North American Society for Sport Management and the European Association for Sport Management. Notably, Sean also serves as a reviewer for multiple publications, such as Computers in Human Behavior and Sport Marketing Quarterly, and for international conferences, such as the American Marketing Association’s Summer Conference.  

Beyond his research endeavors, Sean is an accomplished educator with a diverse teaching portfolio. Since 2018, he has taught many courses for the University of Florida Departments of Sport Management and Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management. Courses such as Sports Business and Finance, Data Mining with Social Data, and Research Methods demonstrate his versatility and expertise in the field. Sean's commitment to innovation extends to curriculum development, where he has designed forward-thinking courses like Artificial Intelligence in Sports and eSports Business Management. Leveraging his background in entrepreneurship, finance, and operations management, Sean brings a unique perspective to his academic pursuits, enriching his understanding of industry practices. Sean is dedicated to maintaining high standards in both research and teaching, actively contributing to the development of academia through his scholarly work and innovative teaching approaches.
